Profile of Associate - Mabel Leong
Mabel has more than 20 years experience in Information Technology and held various management positions ranging from business development, sales and marketing, application development, professional services, consulting and operations.
In early 2000, she was the Vice-President of the Professional Services division of the Singtel B2B e-commerce company (Sesami.com). Her responsibilities included process integration and resource management, e-business solutions and e-hub operations for local and regional clients. One of the notable experiences was the development of a total Procurement Outsourcing system and this included procurement process improvement, change management and e-procurement automation.
Her experience in the healthcare industry spanned 10 years, and included business process re-engineering, system analysis and design and application development. She was involved in the major change management process during the privatization and restructuring of the Singapore General Hospital. She was a pioneer in the civil service computerization program for the Ministry of Health, and implemented large scale and complex projects such as inpatient admissions and billing system, management information system, human resource system, financial accounting systems, outpatient appointment booking, purchasing and inventory system, clinical laboratory system, a nation-wide EDI application with the CPF Board for medisave claims and a hospital emergency ambulance system.
Her experience includes EDI applications for government procurement, interactive Air Cargo Booking and message switching system for Singapore Airlines, Sea Cargo operations for Jurong Port, e-logistic, e-procurement and interactive Supply Chain Management systems for manufacturing firms in Singapore, Hong King and Greater China.
Mabel holds a Bachelor of Arts (honors) in Finance and Accounting from the U.K. She draws on her many years of experience to assist organizations to deploy lean thinking. She embraces the Lean strategies and tools in her daily work and firmly believes organizations from all industries and all sizes can benefit from deploying lean thinking in their operations to eliminate waste, streamline business processes and reduce cost, creating value to customers and ultimately gaining a competitiveness edge. |
